Bog Oak Kingfisher on the Rocks
€150.00
This kingfisher emerged from a piece of ancient Irish bog oak, preserved in Irish bogland for thousands of years. The beak points skyward, the smooth carved body rising from the rough fractured rock beneath — caught in a moment of stillness before the dive.
The contrast between the polished bird form and the raw ancient base is entirely natural. The bog oak provided the rock. The kingfisher was already waiting inside it.
Hand carved and wax finished in Co. Tipperary, Ireland.
